Wow I live on food!!!
Some great words there: Food, Free and competition, lol. Always love reading about fabulous bargains. Keep up the good work.
Obviously a woman after my own heart!
Just a quick question – will you pay more than a pound for the contents of the hamper? 😀 😀
I am trying really hard – £8 worth of vouchers at Tesco today and challenged the woman when she gave me £1.25 off for one of them instead of £3.99 (did feel like not saying anything). It’s also a fab way of trying new products to see if you’ll like them without wasting any money.
Way to go Mary! £8 of vouchers, that’s blinkin great! (picture me doing a little dance, what a sight) and I thought I did well in Morries with £5 yesterday.
Not sure that the assistant was that impressed, nor the people behind me in the queue, but I just gave them a special look and they didn’t say anything.
You have put a good blog here,it covers everything that people need to cut costs and save more money in our pockets, and thank you for the comp.
I have been following your posts with interest, now to teach my step daughter and her friends how to save money.
Interesting information, thanks for running the competition.
Have tweeted and shared on Facebook.
Good luck
Please include me in your draw, would love to win a food hamper. I love to hunt for bargains too, I love your blog and especially the funny stories. Keep up the good work, your blog is ispirational.
Great blog,and really helpful too.
Well done on your hard work.
Just a thought,do you have a left over foodie day each week|?
Left over foodie day means each meal on that day must only be made up of food you already have in the house,no going out and buying anything else. It can be a great way to use up stuff in the fridge/freezer and the food cupboard. As well as saving money,it is a great way on saving on food waste too.
Great blog with some fantastic tips to save money
brilliant
I think I’ve followed the blog – I couldn’t find a Follow button so I’ve subscribed by email. You have a great idea for your blog and i look forward to exchanging tips.
I have followed. Great blog. We can all do with tips to save money!
I am following vis GFC and have subscribed by email katie_01592@yahoo.com
Great tips in your blog posts. I am ashamed at how much food I have wasted in the past. Once I kept a rough running total of everything that got thrown in the bin in one week and that was a huge wake up call. Now I am organised and I shop when I have time to properly sort things when I return e.g. divide my bread into 3 poly bags, one to keep out if we need it and two for the freezer for later etc. Keep up the good work
@01592_katie

I find that shopping more regularly means I pick up great meat and fish bargains saving me quite a bit of money. I can’t believe how much more I’m having to spend on food than I did a couple of years ago.
Fantastic blog will have to show it to my 18 year old son who is moving out next week, he has no idea about money or food.
Following your blog please enter me for your competition, if I win maybe I should donate my prize to him lol 🙂
Followed by email. Great comp and loving this blog. Trying hard to save money as a bit pushed for cash this month. 2 free pizzas this week, box of honey shreddies and pack of walkers crisps. Trying hard not to waste any food. Also was lucky to go to the cinema for free this week. Was going to see Footloose but it was cancelled(didn’t receive the email) and was offered tickets to see another film so saw The Debt. Still get to see Footloose this week as well.
Hi. I save money by meal planning and doing my best to stick to the shopping list. I’ve just done a review of the Sainsbury’s 5 for £20 meal plan on my meal planning monday series on my blog. Well, actually, the review publishes tomorrow – I posted about my plan last week!
Times are tight for all and its great to share cost cutting ideas.

What a great find, lots of useful tips to save money, would love to win the hamper
Love the ideas, I have spent a lot of time shopping for one which can be miserable because you can’t afford the same variety as when you bulk shop for masses. Quickly learnt when Waitrose are likely to be discounting to clear the fruit and veg which means I can pick up an amazing variety of stuff most of which is under 50 pence a pack. And ditto with protein, if it’s reduced to clear and states it can be frozen, it’s in my freezer. Makes you wonder why anyone would pay full price really!
I do hope your local Waitrose is as good as mine can be for really cheap “luxury” meat bargains!
Great blog! Looking forward to reading more posts!
Great competition, good luck all

Great to see this site. I’m on a very low income and live on Soup, Soup, oh and Soup. Use supermarket coupons a lot and get help from nice friends. Where I live I find Tesco reduce for a second time about 8pm. Before then reductions really aren’t worth having. I find thriftiness fun and am always looking for ways to find a bargain. Find only way to save on heating is hot soup and retire to bed! David, Halkirk,Caithness, Scotland.
